I knew it would make her world bigger and I wanted to make sure that the people that I was bringing into her life would have a positive impact. The Cottage definitely did not disappoint. Coco has been a part of the The Cottage family for nearly 4 years and over that time I have watched the teachers support her to develop into a confident and curious learner. My son started in the Nest recently and the teachers once again made this such an easy transition for both Otis and myself. As it turns out I needn't have worried as we were fortunate enough to live near The Cottage in Greenhithe. From the moment we walked through the gates Claire, Claudine and the team were so welcoming. It was and still is like walking into a family. My partner and I are so grateful for the loving care and guidance he receives. The teachers and Manager look at each child as an individual, with their own strengths and needs. My son has learned so much and we enjoy sharing the great activities that go on each day at "kindy", when he's at home. It's been a difficult year with Covid lockdowns and upended schedules but they have handled it so well and I am confident leaving him each day that I couldn't ask for anywhere better. “Over the past 11 years each of my three children have thoroughly enjoyed attending The Cottage. From day one it felt like it was a home away from home, where they could explore, play, and learn at their own pace, and in their own individual ways.
Choosing a daycare centre where my first two children(then 4 and 1 years old) could visit each other at times, and reconnect as siblings, meant an awful lot to me and my wife. My children have all adored having fun, exploring, and getting dirty in the huge outdoor playground, especially loving the play-based, child-lead philosophy that The Cottage prides themselves on delivering.
My first two children were well prepared for school, with the support and guidance of caring, experienced teachers, they each grew to love and accept as an extension of their own family. My third child still attends and really looks forward to his daycare days, is building resilience, as well as great social skills and friendships which he will hopefully take with him when starting school locally, which my wife and I are so grateful for.
I highly recommend The Cottage as a safe, stimulating and homely daycare, where any child would be happy to spend their early years playing, learning and making memories within a culturally diverse environment.

“The Cottage teaching team have been such an incredible support in caring for our son upon my return to work after maternity leave. I was initially so nervous to leave him in someone else’s care, but the love they showed him was so special, and I really appreciated all of the photo updates and learning stories they shared of his growth and learning. We loved the small group sizes and the intimate, calm setting with little touches of nature.

When it was time for him to move classrooms when he turned two, he went from one group of loving teachers to another! It’s so clear that the teachers love what they do, and love the children they work with. I have complete confidence that my son is in the best and most capable hands - amongst professional, kind, friendly teachers. We always feel so welcome at The Cottage, we appreciate all of the events they host, and feel that this is definitely our sons home away from home. He loves going to ‘preschool’ and takes about his teachers all the time. We’ve loved our time at The Cottage and can’t thank the teachers enough!”
